Nortrup - With a ceremony held at Gasthaus Brundiers in Nortrup, the annual retiree and anniversary celebrations of meat products manufacturer H. Kemper GmbH & Co. KG took place. Kemper is a typical family business, now being run by its fifth generation. The successful company, with has approximately 1,300 employees, is the second largest sausage manufacturers in Germany.
Managing director Wolfgang Kühnl paid tribute to his employees' long years of service over coffee, cake and sandwiches. "We are facing major challenges, the air in the market is thinner," he pointed out the intensified competition, at the same time as offering praise: "Our cooperation is our foundation for sustainable success". In such times, reliable permanent staff and employee expertise are more important than ever.
The managing director thanked the audience for their committed and long-term collaboration. 35 employees have given the company ten years of service, while 38 have been with Kemper for 20 years. "On 6 December, 1995, the first 3.20-metre-long salami was produced at the Kleine Heide plant", he recalled a milestone. 64 members of staff have already celebrated their 25th work anniversary, six their 30th and five have even celebrated their 40th!
Support for the repartition of the anniversary celebrations was provided by works council chairman Werner Lager. He also expressed his thanks to the attendees, who have made a significant contribution to the company's 127-year history, with humorous, heartfelt words.
