Osnabrück. For the first time, the Osnabrück - Emsland - Grafschaft Bentheim Chamber of Commerce and Industry has compiled a list of the region’s largest employers. 70,238 employees subject to social insurance contributions are employed by the 62 biggest companies. Three of the top five employers are hospital operators, with the largest located in Osnabrück and the second and third in Emsland. Grafschaft Bentheim only features on the list six times.
The Osnabrück region: 17 of the 62 listed companies are located in the Osnabrück region, With 1,640 employees, the region's largest employer is Kesseböhmer Holding in Bad Essen (metal processor, 10th place overall). It is followed by the Kemper Group in Nortrup with 1,447 employees (meat processors, 14th place), Christian Hospital Quakenbrück (1,405 employees, 16th place), Georgsmarienhütte GmbH steel works (1,370, 17th place), the Schüchtermann-Schiller'sche clinics in Bad Rothenfelde (1,339, 18th place) and, once again, Homann Feinkost in Dissen, for which the Müller Group is looking for a new location. According to the ranking, the company has 1,200 employees (22nd place).
