Aspic sausage specialities are among the lowest-fat meat products They often contain a mere 3% fat. Aspic products belong to the jellied family, which in turn belongs to the cooked sausage category.

Cooked sausage - hearty and delicious, straight from pan
The cooked sausage family has more than 350 different varieties and is comprised of three different groups. In addition to spreadable cooked sausage and liver sausage, other cooked sausage varieties include black pudding and tongue sausage, as well as pie meat specialities and head cheese. Germany's favourite cooking sausage is the liver sausage. Cooked sausage is produced using a special technological process, whereby the ingredients and sausages are heated twice. The name, cooked sausage refers to the initial preparation process. Some of the ingredients are pre-cooked in a pot, while the remaining ones are crushed and mixed with spices and the other ingredients in the cutter.
Sausage naturally makes an important contribution to the everyday diet. For example, black pudding contains large quantities of easily digestible iron, a vital trace element.
